Eisenbahnwelten

Kurort Rathen, 11th August 2010

Reportage assembled: © Tomas Randysek

We visited small town Kurort Rathen during our holiday in the CzechSaxony Switzerland. There is a relatively extensive garden railway Eisenbahnwelten over by the river Elbe. About 4500 metres rails are on an area 5800 square metres onto which up to 30 trains go. Mr Lothar Hanish with his family and his co-workers built this garden railway from 2005. This site is next to main railway line Bad Schandau - Pirna - Dresden and so real trains go short way off the models.
Family admission fee is 15 EUR and we can move in the site all day. If you are tired, you can we use local restaurant service and watch operation from terrace.
