Ferrovia Willy is a park railway which is placed in the north of Italy in the Gemona del Friuli city in the foothills of the Kanin Alps. The railway itself is located in the small park behind the hotel Willy. This hotel provides accommodation for participating modellers. This year planned spring visit went awry so we set off on the their steam meeting Tutto Vapore 2015. Unfortunately the hotel Willy was fully booked up so our friend Marco arranged accommodation for us in the nearby hotel Pittini. A short morning and evening walk was useful for us.
The park railway Ferrovia Willy is one kilometer long and gauge 5" is operating at the present time. The gauge 7" is under construction an will be open next year. The station di Ospedaletto is centrepiece of the park railway and it is located at the left part. There is a small engine shed with a turntable and seven side tracks in the main station. The last side track leads next to engine shed and it serves for rerail of models. There is a fork lift truck with personal operation for more heavy models. We take a walk down memory lane and we unloaded both locomotives Solingen and AEG manually. We got all sweaty because temperature and humidity weren“t more pleasant.

The switches and signals are controlled from the central signal box. A lot of full-grown trees in the vicinity of the line provides wholesome shadow for engine drivers and passengers. The shadow is necessary in the sunny Italy. We went under "tree" roof in the central part of the park literally. There is a small pub with seating. The visitors can see passing trains and drink chilled beer, wine or soft drinks. Tired engine drivers can shut the train in the station Birreria and they can refresh a little. Because many things not urgent in Italy and you can do now you can do in a moment too.

The drives at the Ferrovia Willy was very pleasant despite hihg weekend temperatures because this railway has a lush vegetation. Nearness of a trees and bushes next to line has an indisputable advantage. We saw well-known and unknown models, the atmosphere on the tracks was really relaxed.
